However, I was talking with a blind artist last night, juvenile macular degeneration, and she said losing her sight taught her the difference between sight and vision. Not only that, she talked about a child who had had both his eyes removed due to cancer but yet played video games and was highly competitive. To keep this short, her conclusion is that she had no time to think about her limitations, to be lazy or fearful. She's had this condition for 31 years.
